NCBA Mourns the Passing of Hon. Alan J. Schwartz

The Nassau County Bar Association mourns the sudden passing of Hon. Alan J. Schwartz, 40-year member of the NCBA, Chair of its Real Property Law Committee, and a member of the Assigned Counsel Defender Plan.
Alan was Associate Village Justice of the Incorporated Villages of Centre Island and Huntington Bay. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of the County of Nassau in 1980, after which he went into private practice, culminating as the Principal and Managing Attorney of the Law Offices of Alan J. Schwartz, P.C.
Alan served on the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Bar Association, Jewish Lawyers Association of Nassau County, Inc., Garden City Chamber of Commerce, and Melville Chamber of Commerce. He has also been a member of the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court, the Nassau County Magistrates Association, and the Criminal Courts Bar Association of Nassau County.
"Alan was a constant presence at Domus, always generous with his time and knowledge," says NCBA President Hon. Maxine S. Broderick. "His passing is a tremendous loss to the Bar Association and our entire community. On behalf of the Nassau County Bar Association, I extend my profound condolences to his wife Riva and son Rob and his family."
